3 out of 5 stars Decent Product, but Poor Quality   September 6, 2010
C. Mcdonald (SCOTTSDALE, AZ, US)
I got this mainly for the radio.
I was hoping listen to my favorite radio
station at work. After reading the many reviews stating
that radio reception was excellent, I was a little disappointed
to find that, I could not access my favorite radio station,
then to "add insult to injury", I was collasping the antena
one day and it broke off in my hand. Bear in mind, I only had this for 4 days. Some quality, if I had bought this from a Retail Store, I'd be returning it Immedaitly. However since I bought it online I guess I'll just keep it, besides everything else works fine.

5 out of 5 stars Good Value mp3 CD boombox   September 2, 2010

Product listed as NAXA but box and on-product name was UNIREX. Exactly as advertised. Radio reception (FM stereo) is excellent, but then I live within a few miles of many, many radio/tv antenna towers. Works fine with mp3 cd's (my main reason for purchase) and with micro cruzer and SD memory cards. Also plays regular audio cd's just fine. Sound quality is good but not loud. I would be interested in a larger unit that has bigger speakers but haven't found one on Amazon that has the same other features as this unit...I do have an older Sony unit that will not play mp3 cd's that has much bigger sound. With regular audio cd's that I have mixed, unit does not show title, artist, album info...but it does with mp3 cd's and with memory card and USB apps. I'm quite satisfied with the product so far...especially considering the price was quite reasonable.

2 out of 5 stars easy broken piece   August 31, 2010

Got it from DiscountJungle through Amazon, found that for the same CD (regular type, not MP3), sometime the CD player works, sometime it does not. Then the 2nd day we got it, we tried to test the radio reception and tried to fold and unflod the antenna, and broke it easily. I return it for exchange, and still have not got the new one. So it has been a month from the day I first ordered this unit, I only used it for two days and still wait for the replaced unit to come. I don't think it worths the trouble. If you buy it for your little kid, then it probably is o.k. since you don't expect this thing to last long, but definitely not for adults.

5 out of 5 stars Exactly what I wanted   August 30, 2010
R. Rae Day (Houston, TX USA)
I bought this so my 3 year old would have a music player in her room. It is very user-friendly; in fact, she was able to operate it herself right away.
We have so far only used the cd player and radio, but they work great at low volume.

5 out of 5 stars Good little boombox that plays mp3 without ipod   August 22, 2010

For the money, I am real happy with this boombox. I am glad I found this because it's hard to find a boombox that plays mp3s from a thumb drive. And I really did not want to buy one for an ipod.

Likes:
-I was able to play mp3 files off the cd and the usb thumb drive.
-The folder structure you create on the thumb drive stays intact so you can keep mp3 files of specific albums or genre in separate folders, then you can navigate to the folder that fits your mood. (I've seen other mp3 players that do not do this)
-The radio reception was decent and had better reception than other boomboxes I have tried such as Memorex MP4047 and the SONY ZSE5PK.

Dislikes:
-The volume is not as loud as I would like, but sufficient.
-The LCD text, which is bright and easy to read btw, only turns on for cd/usb and not for the radio because the radio is tuned via analog dial on the top. No big deal to me.
-The cd keeps spinning for quite a while after you turn off the player so you will have to be careful when removing the cd after playing otherwise you risk scratching the cd.

To sum it up. I am very happy with this boombox. And for 25 bucks, I give it 5 stars but I would not pay more than 50 for it. I would recommend it as an inexpensive stereo for a garage, office, kitchen, etc...
