We bought this for my 9 year old's birthday. He loves it. Sound is fine and the thing works great. Not a bad little system for under $40!! Comes with AC adaptor and is a Sony brand product. You can find cheaper boomboxes out there, but you are getting what you pay for. Buy a Sony, you will not regret it!!

I bought this CD player for my two daughters (ages 7 and 5) who love to dance and sing along to music. It is simple enough for each of them to operate without needing my help. The sound is very good for the price. I think others who wrote reviews mentioned the sound wasn't great.....well, your not paying for a BOSE. I think the sound is wonderful. I like that it is light enough to carry around with ease if we want to move it to another room. The whole family enjoys it, and we actually just took it out to our patio yesterday to enjoy music while having a cookout....it sounded great.

This has worked perfectly for my daughter's room. It looks nice sitting out on her desk, and it is very easy for her to use. The sound might not be the best, but she's 7, so it works perfectly for her.
